Offering local businesses face-to-face meetings with local government, municipal, purchasing agents
The Northwest Louisiana Procurement Technical Assistance Center is hosting their North Louisiana Matchmaker and Training Conference on May 4 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bossier Parish Community College, Building I.
This conference is designed for businesses and contractors who want to do business with local government or municipalities who are having a hard time getting their foot in the door.
“Local businesses can attend Matchmaker and speak directly with the purchasing agent or decision maker for places like Barksdale Air Force Base or the Caddo Parish School Board,” said Kelly Ford, NWLA PTAC Director. “It takes a lot of time and leg work when you’re a small business trying to get in front of these folks. Our conference gives them accessibility to these people all in one place, at one time which hopefully makes it easier for them to do business.”
The main event will consist of an all-day reverse trade show where government agencies and large prime contractors will serve as exhibitors, giving our small business community the opportunity to interact with and market directly to the decision makers. This is also a chance for contracting officers to network with certified and qualified small businesses from the area to meet contracting goals. There will be speakers throughout the day allowing the small business attendees to learn more about contracting with various agencies and prime contractors, as well as one-on-one matchmaking opportunities.
Early-bird registration is $25, ending April 17. Registrants after the 17 will pay $35. Breakfast and lunch are included in those prices.
